Hawk boys move to 14-1

STATE CENTER — The South Hamilton boys continued their winning ways here last Friday night, besting West Marshall, 61-47.

Ryland Ubben scored 24 points and Reece Ricke added 13 to lead the Hawks, who have won seven in a row. Ubben also grabbed 11 rebounds.

South Hamilton (14-1 overall, 9-1 in Heart of Iowa Conference) is now 14-4 since 2006 vs. the Trojans, winning three of the last four.

Ubben and Ricke combined for 21 in the first half to help the Hawks to a 27-16 advantage. They led by 24 heading into the fourth.

Noah Gunderson pulled down seven boards in the victory, while also scoring eight points. Ricke grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists.

West Marshall is now 3-10.

On Thursday, the Hawks soared to a 63-46 win over South Hardin. Ubben had 26 points and 16 rebounds. Ty Koehnk (12) and Ricke (11) were also in double figures.

South Hamilton returned to the court on Monday night at home against Saydel, with another home date set for Tuesday vs. Nevada. Varsity tip time in Jewell is slated for 7:30 p.m.
