Webster City improves to 9-0

NEWELL — The Webster City baseball team improved to 9-0 on the season with a 7-4 victory over Newell-Fonda here last Friday night.

The Lynx got a 10-strikeout performance on the mound from Alex Staley, as he allowed just one hit over five innings.

Aiden Hrnicek had a solo home run and Braylon Dyvig stole three bases with a double, as Carter Mickelson added a double.

Dyvig was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, and RBI and two walks, as Kaleb Hansen had two hits and drove in two.

Webster City scored a run in the second, two in the third, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth, as all four Newell-Fonda runs came in the sixth.

The Lynx return to North Central Conference action on Monday vs. Iowa Falls-Alden beginning at 5 p.m. for a doubleheader.
