Lynx duo named first team all-NCC soccer

Abisai Ramirez-Carmona and Aaron Mendoza-Ramirez were both named to the all-North Central Conference boys soccer first team, the league announced recently.
Ramirez-Carmona and Mendoza-Ramirez helped lead Webster City to a runner-up finish in the NCC behind Wright County, who they would eliminate in the Class 2A postseason.
The Lynx finished 11-3-3 overall and went 9-2-3 in the conference. They were ousted by Aplington-Parkersburg in a substate final last Friday, 3-2.
David Villelas, Dany Morales and Grayson Henderson were all placed on the second team from Webster City, with Jaime Martinez-Andrial earning third-team status.
Ramirez-Carmona, a junior, tallied four goals and four assists in NCC play. He finished the season with four goals and five assists.
Mendoza-Ramirez, also an 11th-grader, had three goals and three assists.
Villelas tallied seven goals with an assist in nine league matches while Morales had two goals and an assist. Villelas and Morales are both juniors while Henderson is a sophomore. Martinez-Andrial, also a sophomore, scored twice with two assists in the NCC.
