HAWKS PUT TOGETHER 4-2 DAY AT CGD TOURNEY: The South Hamilton volleyball team continued to build a solid early-season resume Saturday with four wins in six outings at the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Invite.

The Hawks earned 2-0 sweeps over Estherville-Lincoln Central (21-19, 21-13) and Eagle Grove (21-10, 21-11), as well as 2-1 victories over Belmond-Klemme (21-13, 19-21, 15-12) and Clear Lake (23-21, 15-21, 15-11).

South Hamilton (8-5) dropped 2-0 decisions to CGD (21-17, 21-14) and North Butler (28-26, 21-9).

CGD, a 2020 Class 3A state semifinalist, rolled to the tournament title with a 6-0 record on its home floor.

South Hamilton will travel to Eldora on Thursday for a non-conference triangular against South Hardin and North Tama.
