The Webster City boys soccer team earned a rematch with North Central Conference rival Wright County by defeating Central Iowa United in Class 2A postseason action here Tuesday.

The Lynx (10-2-3 overall) struck early with three first half goals, including two by David Villelas. Franky Bernal had the opening goal, as Dany Morales tallied the fourth and final one, 4-2.

Villelas also had two assists, as Bernal and Morales each had one.

Brandon Burney had two saves in net.

“Solid performance from back to front,” WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said. “We will take a couple days off and get back at it. The boys are excited for another chance to take on Wright County.

“They know they’re going to need their best stuff to have an opportunity to advance.”

During the regular season, Webster City and Wright County played twice, battling to a 0-0 draw with Wright County earning the other, 3-0.

The two teams will meet in Belmond on Wednesday, May 27.
