The Webster City boys soccer team earned a tight 3-2 victory over Humboldt on Thursday night. The Lynx (5-1-2 overall) had 10 shots on goal. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie earlier in the season. ALLEMAN — The Webster City boys track and field team had a strong showing here Tuesday night at the North Polk Invitational. The Lynx placed seventh overall in a field with several Class 4A powers, including winner West Des Moines Dowling. The host Comets were second, followed by Johnston, Ankeny, Roland-Story and Ballard. HUMBOLDT — The Webster City girls track and field team claimed a third-place finish here Monday at a meet hosted by North Central Conference rival Humboldt. Algona placed first overall, with the Wildcats second. The Lynx were followed in the team standings by Pocahontas Area, Southeast Valley, Hampton-Dumont/CAL, Estherville-LC and St. Edmond.
