Webster City boys close out tennis campaign

BOONE — The season came to an end for the Webster City boys tennis team here Saturday during a Class 1A district tournament. Nathan Wardell picked up a first round win over Erik Larson of St. Edmond in the singles draw, 6-1, 6-2, before falling to Owen Galvin of Denison-Schleswig, 6-1, 6-1. Wardell is the lone senior on the roster for the Lynx. After falling to St. Edmond in dual action earlier this year, the Webster City boys tennis team avenged that defeat with an 8-1 victory here Monday evening.
