Webster City edges Humboldt in soccer

The Webster City boys soccer team earned a tight 3-2 victory over Humboldt on Thursday night. The Lynx (5-1-2 overall) had 10 shots on goal. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie earlier in the season. BOONE — Tyler Mosbach saw the kind of performances he has been waiting for by the Webster City girls track and field team here Thursday night at the Don Howard Invitational. The Lynx won six events and had several others secure medals. Izzy Grossoehme claimed two of those six individual titles, as she was first in the 100 and the 200. ALLEMAN — The Webster City boys track and field team had a strong showing here Tuesday night at the North Polk Invitational. The Lynx placed seventh overall in a field with several Class 4A powers, including winner West Des Moines Dowling. The host Comets were second, followed by Johnston, Ankeny, Roland-Story and Ballard. JEFFERSON — The Webster City girls golf team dropped a dual to Greene County here Tuesday at The Hill Golf Course, 208-223. Alleyna Dawson led the way for the Lynx, as the senior carded a round of 49. Dawson tied for medalist, losing out on the tiebreaker.
