The Webster City boys tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Clear Lake on Monday afternoon. Nathan Wardell pushed his match to a super-tiebreaker after splitting two sets with Walker Willams at the No. 1 singles spot. Wardell dropped the first set, 6-3, bouncing back to take the second, 6-2. Williams, though, won the match with a 13-11 victory in the super-tiebreaker. GARNER — The Webster City girls soccer team dropped a tough 4-2 decision to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura here Monday night. The Webster City boys tennis team was unable to keep the momentum going from a big win earlier this week going here Tuesday night, falling to Nevada by a 9-0 count. The Webster City boys golf team placed fourth at the Woodward-Granger Invitational last week. Ballard took home team honors, shooting a 279, as North Polk was second followed by ADM. The Comets finished just five shots ahead of the Lynx, with the Tigers three strokes better. Dawson Bertran and Syrus Willard each carded rounds of 72 at the Woodward Golf Club to pace Webster City, as Coyce Bertran added a 75. CLEAR LAKE — The Webster City boys soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss to Clear Lake here last Thursday night. The Lions scored the lone goal of the match in the second half off a shot by Trevor Theobald, as Caleb Hall recorded five saves in net for Clear Lake.
