IOWA FALLS – The Webster City girls tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action this week.
Natalie Segar, Olivia Bergman and Haylee Ades each scored four points in their singles matches to eight, as Ava Otteros took three and Chloe Bakken two.
In doubles, Sebert and Bergman fell at the No. 2 position, 8-4. Segar and Bakken dropped an 8-3 decision at the top spot.
"Still not the (desired) overall results, but I thought we made some great strides compared to last week and our most recent meet," WCHS head coach Mark Fisher said. "Yes, a lot of the same issues plagued us, but I thought we limited and reduced many of those mistakes.
"It's always a process, and the start of the year isn't any different. We're seeing flashes of it, we just have tow ork to stack more and more good points together."
Webster City scored 11 wins in junior varsity, as the doubles teams of Miley Mason and Abby Heckert, Lizzie Westrum and Paisyn Bare, Brielle Burgina nd Elizabeth Van denmark, Ava Ely and Kairi Toney, Maddex Lehman and Grace Andrews, Delaney Lyons and Dayana Rodriguez, Sarahi Terrazas and Hilary Worden, Emily Carpenter and Greenlee Williams, Terrazas and Van Demark, and Burgin and Westrum.
The Lynx head to Boone for an invitational this Friday.
