Hawks riding momentum
GREENFIELD — For the first time this season, the South Hamilton football team has momentum on their side.
The Hawks picked up a 30-7 victory last week over West Central Valley.
Now, they try to make it 2-for-2 in district play here this Friday night vs. Nodaway Valley.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Last year was the first meeting between these two, as South Hamilton (1-3 overall, 1-0 in district) picked up a convincing 66-14 triumph.
Behind a 218-yard rushing performance, the Hawks looked like themselves again, with Braden Young adding 65 yards passing and a score.
Kolby Hodnefield, Ashton Williams and Nick Severseike all have over 100 yards rushing this year, with Hodnefield leading the way at 221. Young has thrown for 247 and two scores.

Nodaway Valley (0-4, 0-1) fell to Woodward-Granger last week, 48-8, after losses to Shenandoah, Central Decatur and Mount Ayr to start the season.
The Wolverines are paed by senior Eli Harris, who has thrown for 283 yards but has been picked off nine times. Paul berg has 107 yards rushing and Garrett Welsch has six receptions for 73.
