JEWELL — The South Hamilton girls track and field team hosted the George Abell Hawkette Relays here on Tuesday, placing third overall.

Roland-Story claimed team honors, as South Hardin was second followed closely by the Hawks. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Northwood-Kensett, Clarion-Goldfield/Dows and Eagle Grove rounded out the standings.

It was a big night for South Hamilton seniors Isabel Swenson, Daytona Ferrie, Brooklyn Doolittle and Claire Hewitt, as they were honored alongside classmates and teammates Lillie Ammerman, Olivia Beaune, Michelle Fasching, Linnea Hebnes, Abigail Moline, Bianca Seaton, Vivian Swenson and Kayley Zanker.

Swenson won the high jump, clearing 4-10, as Ferrie picked up gold in the discus with a throw of 103-5. Doolittle was second in the 200 and fourth in the 100, with Hewitt taking fifth in the long jump.

The Hawks also won the distance medley relay in 4:52.99, placing second in the 4×800 and third in both the 4×400 and sprint medley.

Tessa Skartvedt won the shot put with a throw of 37-1 and finished a close second to Ferrie in the discus with a best of 102-5. Emma Ammerman was fourth in the long jump.
