Hawks look for first win of year
JEWELL — After playing two on the road to begin the season, the South Hamilton football team gets their second straight at Taylor Field this Friday night.
The Hawks host West Central Valley in a Class 1A, District 7 opener for both.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
South Hamilton (0-3 overall) has had a tough start to the season, dropping games to seventh-ranked (1A) South Hardin, West Marshall and Roland-Story. But they have experienced plenty of success vs. the Wildcats, winning all three meetings including a 56-8 victory last season.

On defense, Hodnefield, Young, Severseike and Jose Babcock all have recorded at least 10 tackles.
West Central Valley (2-1) owns wins over Shenandoah and Panorama with a loss to Red Oak. Colton Lindsay, a sophomore, has 261 yards passing and TD scores while rushing for three touchdowns.
Trenton Naragon has rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns with Jordon Robinson scoring twice.
