NEVADA — The season came to an end for the Webster City girls soccer team here last Thursday vs. Nevada.

The Cubs advanced to the Class 2A, Region 5 semifinals with a 9-0 victory over the Lynx. Nevada (8-5-2 overall) will now take on Gilbert (12-0-2) Tuesday night.

Webster City (7-9-1) tied for the most wins in a season by the program since 2014 when they won nine matches. They also set three records, as Janey Putney broke the single-season and career goals marks while Jayme Perez broke the single-season assists mark.

The Lynx graduate Putney, Perez, Avril Borjas, Julia Griep, Heidi Mendoza, Ashlee Nydegger and Kate Feltz.
