Fugitive wanted for parole violation caught in WC

A fugitive wanted for violating his parole was arrested and a woman accused of giving him shelter charged by Webster City Police Wednesday.

Police used a search warrant to apprehend Jeffrey Scott Johnson, 39, at 923 Boone St., Webster City.

“The search warrant stemmed from an investigation and tips from the community that a wanted fugitive was hiding in the residence,” Police Chief Shiloh Mork said.

Johnson had been actively sought by law enforcement; a $150 reward for his capture was offered by Hamilton County Crimestoppers.

“Officers and the K9 from the Webster City Police Department and deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office surrounded the residence and located Johnson,” Mork said.

“He was taken into custody without incident.”

Tiffany Anderson, 35, who lives at 923 Boone St., was charged with accessory after the fact, a simple misdemeanor, “for harboring and aiding in the concealment of Johnson,” according to Mork.

A simple misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of at least $105, but not more than $855, and incarceration of up to 30 days, Mork said.

Webster City police were also assisted in the arrest by the Hamilton County Attorney’s Office.
