Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley offers Wet Felting Workshop next weekend
The Legacy Learning — Boone River Valley will offer a workshop on Wet Felting on a Ball on June 20.
This workshop will be held at the Legacy Learning studio located at Seneca Street in Webster City.
This workshop begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. The cost is $60 and includes all materials.
Slow down, get creative, and discover the relaxing art of wet felting. In this hands-on workshop, participants will transform soft wool fibers into a beautiful three-dimensional felted vessel or bag using an inflatable ball as the form.
Using warm water, soap, colorful wool, and simple hand techniques, the loose fibers magically bond together into a sturdy and unique piece of fiber art. The process is both calming and satisfying, making it a wonderful way to spend a creative day with others.
Whether completely new to fiber arts or looking to try a new technique, this workshop offers a welcoming environment where participants can learn, create, and enjoy the experience.
There will be a short lunch break during the day. Participants are welcome to visit one of Webster City’s local restaurants or bring a sack lunch.
Please bring one or two towels to catch drips.
This workshop will be led by Marilyn Anderson, an experienced fiber artist with more than 35 years of experience in spinning, dying and weaving. Her passion for fiber arts and teaching makes this a fun and welcoming introduction to the world of wet felting.
No experience is necessary, plus all materials are provided.
