ILCC to host Choir Festival
ESTHERVILLE — On Jan. 23-24, 27 show choirs and jazz choirs from area high schools and middle schools will come to Iowa Lakes Community College for the annual Iowa Lakes Show/Jazz Choir Festival.
The choirs will perform for three clinicians. Clay Blackman of Omaha, Nebraska, is returning again this year to work with the show choirs, and Dr. Kurt Runestad, of Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, and Duane Ites, retired Spirit Lake Choir Director, will work with the jazz choirs.
The clinicians give the groups on-stage feedback to help them prepare for all of the performances that high school show and jazz choirs have throughout the spring.
The public is free to arrive any time during the day to watch the groups perform. There is no cost to attend. Show choirs will perform in the gymnasium, and jazz choirs will be performing in the auditorium on the Estherville campus.
Performance schedules are listed below. For more information please contact Brett Fuelberth, vocal music professor, at (712) 330-1145 or email@example.com, or Tim Soper, music program assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (712) 362-8345, or visit www.iowalakes.edu/music.
