Skirting The Issue is a new exhibit at the Jane Young House

Skirting The Issue is the theme of new exhibit curated by the Webster City Women’s Club and staged at its meeting place, the Jane Young House.

The Vintage Clothing Exhibit at the Jane Young House will be open to the public Saturday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The new exhibit upstairs features skirts of all styles, shapes and sizes. It will likely bring back all kinds of memories.

Guides from the Webster City Women’s Club will lead tours of the historic home of Kendall and Jane Young, which is now 150 years old whose philanthropy made the palatial Kendall Young Library possible.

The Youngs’ home, the Jane Young House, was the site of the first library while its more elaborate replacement was being built.

Just west of the Kendall Young Library, the Jane Young House is located at 629 Elm St., Webster City.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Club, there is no charge for the tour, although freewill donations are appreciated.

Small group tours can also be arranged by contacting Loween Getter 515-297-0846 or JoAnn Robb 515-310-0397.
