Hawks win tight contest
The South Hamilton girls basketball team pulled out a tight 42-40 victory over Saydel on Tuesday night.
Two Hawks (1-3 overall) reached double digits.
Junior Claire Hewitt led the way with 16 points. Hewitt also pulled down seven rebounds.
Classmate Isabel Swenson was next in line with 12 points. She had nine steals and five rebounds.
Kaylen Trask had six points, while Emma Lammers (3), Allie Neuberger (2) and Daytona Ferrie (1) were the other scorers.
The Hawks hit five three pointers, two by Trask and Swenson.
For Sayde, Paige Rummans had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. She also had six steals.
Luella Weipfenning had seven for the Eagles.
South Hamilton had the edge on the boards, 42-37.
