Cyclone Tailgate Tour coming to FD

The 20th annual Cyclone Tailgate Tour will make a stop in Fort Dodge this May.

Iowa State University announced that the tour will begin May 18 and include 10 stops over the five-day run.

Fort Dodge is set for May 21 at the Opera House at Fort Museum from noon-1 p.m. The tour will head to Okoboji from there, concluding in Sioux City and Council Bluffs the following day.

“This is a great opportunity for our staff to engage with loyal Cyclone fans across the state and is always a highlight of our year,” said Endowed Cyclone Director of Athletics, Jamie Pollard. “I’m sure that our fans will be excited to meet and hear from our three newest head coaches in Jimmy Rogers, Brent Metcalf and Alli St. John for the first time as well as the tour veterans T.J. Otzelberger, Christy Johnson-Lynch, Bill Fennelly and Kevin Dresser.

“We are incredibly grateful for our loyal fans who travel to Ames for all of our contests, and the Tailgate Tour is a great way for us as a department to return that favor and meet them on their home turf.”

Along with Pollard, Rogers, Metcalf, St. John, Otzelberger, Johnson-Lynch, Fennelly and Dresser, John Walters and the mascot, Cy, will be in attendance.

The first stop will be in Des Moines, followed by Davenport, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Clear Lake.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the listed event start times. The evening stops include a program which begins at 6:30 p.m. for all locations excluding Davenport and Council Bluffs, which will begin at 7 p.m.

Official Iowa State merchandise from Cy’s Locker Room will be available for purchase at all evening stops.

Starting at $3.46/week.
