Hawks try for third district win

JEWELL — The start of district play has been good to the South Hamilton football team.
The Hawks look to make it three in a row here Friday night for Homecoming vs. Ogden.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
After starting off district action with a 30-7 victory over West Central Valley, South Hamilton (2-3 overall, 2-0 in district) thumped Nodaway Valley last Friday, 38-0.
Kolby Hodnefield and Nick Severseike both eclipsed the 100-yard mark, as the Hawks rushed 52 times for 370 yards as a team. Hodnefield had 127 with two scores while Severseike added 120 and a TD.
Ashton Williams ran for 77 and found the end zone, as Braden Young also added a rushing touchdown. Landon Sogard had an interception on defense and caught a 26-yard pass from Young.
Hodnefield continues to lead the Hawk ground attack, as the junior has rushed 46 times for 348 yards. Williams has a team-high four touchdowns while adding 251 yards, with Severseike rushing for 254 and two scores.
Ogden (1-4, 1-1) knocked off Grand View Christian before falling to Woodward-Granger last week, 49-20. They started the year with three consecutive losses, including to ACGC in the opener.
Junior CeJay Jones has thrown for 754 yards with five touchdowns while Brayden Miller is his favorite target, catching seven passes for 200 and a score. Cayden Dudley has 313 yards rushing, 107 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
South Hamilton has won each of the last five meetings, including a 36-0 victory last fall.
Ogden is coming off a 49-20 loss to Woodward-Granger. Freshman Weston Sundell caught three balls for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He had a long of 68.
Quarterback CeJay Jones threw for 204 yards and two scores. Cayden Dudley had a 12-yard touchdown run.
On the year Jones has thrown for 754 yards and five scores. Tyler Lass has two receiving scores. Sundell has two TDs, while Brayden Miller has one.
Dudley has ran for 313 yards and four touchdowns.
