Hawk girls place 4th; titles for Swenson, Skartvedt
ALLEMAN — The South Hamilton girls track and field teams turned in a fourth place performance here Monday night at the North Polk Coed.
Roland-Story was first, the host Comets finished second and PCM was third ahead of the Hawks, who scored 91 points to place ahead of Greene County and Nevada, Bondurant-Farrar.
Isabel Swenson and Tessa Skartvedt scored event titles, as Swenson won the high jump by clearing 5-0 and Skartvedt the shot put with a throw of 36-4.5. Skartvedt was also fifth in the discus.
Daytona Ferrie and Bianca Seaton added runner-up medals, with Ferrie placing second in the discus and Seaton the same in the 800. Seaton was fourth in the 3,000.
Jillian Bentley finished third in the 800 and fourth in the 1,500 for South Hamilton, as Emma Ammerman was fourth in the long jump. Brooklyn Doolittle placed fifth in the 200 and sixth in the 100, with Megan Moline finishing fifth in the 400 hurdles, Claire Hewitt fifth in the long jump and Grace Wirth sixth in the 400 hurdles.
The Hawks had two relays place third and one finish fourth. The sprint medley of Doolittle, Hayley Gibson, Cici Herrick and Adelyn Track was third, as was the shuttle hurdle of Vivian Swenson, Signe Swenson, Abigail Moline and Megan Moline.
Doolittle, Gibson, Trask and Linnea Hebnes ran the distance medley.
