Rain washes out HC Speedway
Once again, weather caused problems for race fans here this past weekend at the historic Hamilton County Speedway.
Following three heats of action, ran caused the remaining races for the Mike Baker Memorial to be called off.
In USRA Hobby Stocks, both Joshua Monson and Bryce Sommerfeld won heats, with Tyler Crimmins claiming the checkered flag in a heat of USRA Tuners action.
The event was held in honor of Mike Baker, who passed away last year. A graduate of Webster City High School, Baker was the owner of Baker Trucking and raced modifieds, sprint cars and stock cars for several years.
Racing resumes at the track during the Hamilton County Fair week starting Wednesday, July 24 with the Midwest 410 Sprint Touring Series. Nights of action are also July 26-28.
