NEVADA — The Webster City girls wrestling team took part in a Class 2A regional tournament here this past Friday night. Kali Hartnett reached the championship round at 120 pounds, falling to Piper Zamastil of Cedar Rapids-Prairie. In a match to advance to state by placing second, Hartnett was bested at the hands of Olivia Hallam of Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Ariana Wilson placed fourth for the Lynx at 130 pounds, going 2-2 on the day. Madison Culver picked up a decision at 125 and Kate Feltz earned a pin at 135 for Webster City.

The Cadets erased an early 11-point deficit, outscoring the Lynx over the final 16 minutes to earna 60-53 decision. “The girls battled all night long and just came up short,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said.
