Stuhr earns state honor

Webster City senior Joleah Stuhr was named a 2023-24 recipient of the E. Wayne Cooley “You Can” Award.

The honor, named in honor of the longtime executive director of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, E. Wayne Cooley, illustrates the qualities of determination, character and the values of pursuing victory with honor.

She has been a tremendous leader on this team that has helped to bridge a divide and galvanize a team full of both veteran players, as well as many freshmen and sophomores,” WCHS head coach Mark Fisher said. She has helped to build a culture of togetherness within our team and has helped to role model for the younger players the type of culture we want to build.

“Her legacy with the program will last long after she has graduated.”

Stuhr scored 111 points with 78 rebounds, 25 steals and eight blocks for the Lynx this past winter.
