Drivers ready to hit the track in Hamilton County

An unusually-warm spell of early-spring weather has race fans ready to see the green flag drop at Hamilton County Speedway.

The 2024 season at the 1/2-mile semi-banked track is scheduled to begin Saturday, April 6, with what is being called the “Ice Breaker” — complete with a chili cornhole tournament.

From there, racers will hit the dirt on a regular basis through July. A handful of events are also planned for August and October.

The points season opener is on Saturday, April 20. Winged sprints and 410 non-wing will be in action on Saturday, May 11, and a “Salute to the Troops” is set for May 18 with free admission for all active and retired military.

A special $3,000 to win modifieds night is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, with the kickoff to Thursday night thunder planned for May 30.

“Classic Kids Night” will take place Thursday, June 20, and “World of Outlaws” be on Tuesday, June 25. Three consecutive nights will close out the summer July 26-28 around the Hamilton County Fair.
