Kasch’s two goals not enough for Lynx in loss to Cadets
WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City girls’ soccer team hung tough for 40 minutes, but tired legs and a barrage of Iowa Falls-Alden goals in the second half put the match out of reach at Lynx Field Monday evening.
Ahead 3-0 at the half, the Cadets (4-5) erupted for eight goals over the final 40 minutes for an 11-2 victory.
“We had a good defensive stand in the first half,” WCHS head coach Paul Baedke said. “Of course then we were tired for the second half. Overall it was a good outing for the girls, they showed grit and toughness that I hadn’t seen so far this year.”
Leah Kasch scored two goals for WCHS (2-5) in the loss. She pulled the Lynx within 5-1 in the 45th minute and scored again in the 60th off an assist by Adalie Peterson.
WCHS goalkeeper Josselin Guendulay had 17 saves in net for the Lynx.
