To the Editor: Webster City and Hamilton County, I have lived here for the past 19 plus years and am very happy to call this home and tell people where I live and am proud to do so. I however was not born here and no matter what happens in my life, that can never change. This makes me wonder why most people in Webster City and Hamilton County have not put much thought into the future of our children to say where they were born. To the Editor: Just curious if anyone else has noticed the weeds growing on the slope on the north side of Bank Street immediately west of the river bridge. When we moved into town 22 years ago, that slope was mowed with the park and looked very nice. Then at some point the mowing stopped and it grew wild with trees. Then last year the trees were removed and now weeds have taken over. There are iron weeds growing over 6-feet tall along with a new crop of trees and sucker trees growing from the stumps of the cut trees. I wonder if a citation could be written if this were private ...
To the Editor: I take umbrage that Kent Krause thinks I’ll believe that 455 points on the Master Matrix is “well above” the 440 minimum required. 51.7 percent is not “well above” 50 percent. Fact: The Master Matrix has 44 criteria. Meet all the requirements and you get 880 points. Fact: Only 50 percent is required. If you got that in school or any test, you’d get a big fat failing F. Fact: You don’t need to do even half the questons. On Duncombe’s matrix they answered 19. That’s 43 percent. Fact: They get to pick the questions. Talk about ...
To the Editor: Our local hospital has been out of the birthing business for approximately 10 months now. They told us they would no longer deliver babies after Oct. 12, 2018. I believe the longer our hospital stays out of the birthing business, the more difficult it will be for them to get back into the business. The expecting mothers in our community have had to form relationships with out of the area doctors and hospitals. Once they have formed a new relationship and if they have received good care, the mothers and their children are more apt to continue with the providers who ...
