Teen: Timmons supports youth organizations

To the Editor: I am writing this letter to express my support for Sheriff Doug Timmons' re-election as Hamilton County Sheriff. Sheriff Timmons has done an excellent job as sheriff, and has proven that he is a very strong leader in Hamilton County. He has gone beyond his duties as sheriff to ensure that all citizens of Hamilton County are protected and happy. As a youth living in Webster City who is part of many youth-led organizations, I have seen firsthand how Sheriff Timmons supports our youth and everything they do. Sheriff Timmons has supported Webster City's Boy Scout troop, ...

Says Hicok will be proactive if elected sheriff

To the Editor: I may not be a resident of Hamilton County but I feel as though I need to write this letter to the editor. I have known Rod Hicok for approximately 30 years. I actually worked side by side with Rod while working as a Deputy in Webster County. Rod truly has the dedication, education and experience to be a great leader in the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. One highlight of Rod's career in Hamilton County is the founding of the Hamilton County Police Officer Association. Rod volunteers much of his off duty time and continues to give back to the community wherever he ...

Supports Timmons in primary race for county sheriff

To the Editor: I am writing this letter in support of Sheriff Doug Timmons' reelection as Hamilton County Sheriff. Sheriff Timmons is a very active member of the Stratford community and has been an excellent partner working with the school. He visits the school regularly doing "High Five Fridays" with the students. This provides him with the opportunity to get to know our students and for them to see that a person is a position such as his is someone to not be afraid of but as someone that is there to help them. He is always willing to volunteer time out of his busy schedule to talk ...

It seems to me that this idea used across the U. S. would help our country to continue to fit into a more and more connected world. Shirley Yungclas Webster City

Says words, actions of Grassley, Ernst disappointing for Iowa

To the Editor: I am alarmed and disappointed that my senators will not stand up for the Constitution of the United States of America, the rule of law, and the American people It is disgusting that both Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley have decided to become weak, pathetic sycophants of Donald J. Trump and become part of the cult of personality that this president has sown in our great country. The United States of America deserves true patriots who will take a stand, have independent thought, and speak out against tyranny. Ernst and Grassley have both failed miserably. I will work my ...

Climate change is most important issue

To the Editor: One of life’s greatest privileges is to vote. People say, “I don’t want to get involved in politics.” Webster’s Dictionary says, “Politics: A total complex of relations between people living in society.” I hate to burst your bubble, but politics are in everything you do. Every law that’s passed will end up affecting you somehow. Every rule and regulation, every license you purchase or insurance you have to buy came via politics. You need people in office that make sense and are honest. The current Administration would throw out every thought-out ...
