To the Editor: In the Gettysberg Address, Lincoln says the government is of the people, by the people and for the people. It's not of the king, by the king and for the king. Any president who wants to be king has got to go. We fought a revolutionary war over it. We can't regress and make all of the lost lives meaningless. Our country started with a protest —the Boston Tea Party in 1773. Taxation without representation they called it. The king taxed them but ignored the needs of the people in America. Sound familiar? Commends Reynolds’ handling of COVID-19 pandemic

To the Editor I want to commend Governor Reynolds for doing a good job dealing with the Covid-19 virus. I think she has done very well in maintaining her priorities of both the citizens and the economy. She has stood against pressures from political opponents and special interest groups and made her decisions based on the latest and best information available using common sense and logic. In my opinion the news media likes to dramatize the information they report. This dramatization creates more concern and fear than is necessary. I would like to hear the optimistic side as well. ...

We have yet to question his professionalism, integrity,concern for all the residents of Hamilton County or the well being of his staff. To the Editor: I am asking for your support to re-elect Sheriff Doug Timmons. I saw first hand how he organized and coordinated with the fire fighters, ambulance services and law enforcement agencies of Hamilton County to get the new radio system for all emergency personnel up and operational, making sure each town had all the coverage they needed. There were training sessions for deputies, dispatchers, fire fighters, ambulance services, Webster City, Ellsworth, Jewell and Stanhope Police departments and Conservation Officers to be sure the county was ready for all its emergency ...

To the Editor: We are very fortunate to have a young sheriff in our community. Doug Timmons is an asset to our community for law enforcement. He knows the needs of the people here. He is honest, dependable and has Hamilton County’s interests at heart. We enjoy his exposure in the community. He came to my rescue last January when I had an accident involving a tree. He guided the helicopter right to our house and to the hospital in Des Moines. His timing with lights and sirens were particularly impressive.
