Police Reports

Hannah J. Coon, Fonda, was traveling east bound on Highway 20 on Feb. 21. Coon lost control of her car due to the snowy conditions. Coon hit the 141 mile marker sign and went into the ditch. There were no injuries. The mile marker received an estimated $50.00 in damage. Coon’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in minor damage.

William T. Powers, Duncombe, was arrested on Feb. 9 for Theft in the 5th Degree.

Police Reports

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Feb. 12 at the intersection of Webster St. and Prospect St. Veronica Rodriguez-Garcia, Webster City, reported seeing Jordan R. Stangeland, Webster City, coming towards her, but was unable to stop due to icy road conditions. When Rodriguez-Garcia realized she couldn’t stop, she sped up faster, trying to beat Stangeland to the intersection. Rodriguez-Garcia was struck by Stangeland. Stangeland tried, but was also unable to stop due to slick road surface conditions. Rodriguez-Garcia’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000.00 in minor damage. Stangeland’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000.00 in minor damage.

The WCPD was called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Lynx Ave. and Collins St. on Feb. 11. Upon arrival, Officer Delaney spoke with Kyle W. Carter, Webster City. Carter stated that he was driving on Collins St. and started slowing down before the stop sign, but slid on the ice and snow on the road. Carter put the car in reverse in an attempt to try stop the car also. Carter’s vehicle slid into a vehicle driven by Tammy J. Richardson, Webster City, who was traveling south on Lynx Ave. Richardson told Officer Delaney she saw Carter’s vehicle coming at her and sped up in an attempt to avoid a collision, but it didn’t help. The vehicles collided. Carter’s vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage. Carter was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. There were seven passengers on the school bus driven by Richardson. There were no injuries reported. The bus sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage.

Thongyoi Moungkhounuh, Webster City, reported the theft of her wallet on Feb. 9.

Police Reports

An unknown vehicle was traveling westbound down the north alley of First St. on Feb. 14. Amy A. Reis, Fort Dodge, was traveling southbound on Broadway St. The unknown vehicle failed to yield upon entering through the intersection of Broadway St. and the alley. The front bumper of Reis’s vehicle collided into the right front side of the unknown vehicle. The vehicle left the scene and was unable to be located by law enforcement. Ries’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000.00 in minor damage.

Police Reports

On Feb. 4, Tammy J. Richardson, Webster City, was driving a school bus east on Bank St. Bridgett A. Cagle, Webster City, was stopped behind other vehicles waiting to turn ono Beach St. Richardson slid on the ice while trying to stop strikng Cagle’s bumper. Richardson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $300 in minor damage. Cagle’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in minor damage. No injuries were reported.

On Feb. 3, Officer Delaney was called to 305 Fair Meadow Drive for an accident at the Stone Ridge Apt. complex parking lot. Delaney spoke with Dawn M. Stufflebean, Webster City, who reportedly stated that she had backed out of a parking stall and started pulling forward when she noticed a truck backing up. Robert I. Ruba, Webster City, was driving the truck and stated that he had been plowing snow and was backing up and did not notice Stufflebean’s vehicle in time to stop. Ruba’s vehice received an estimated $300 in minor damage. Stufflebean’s vehicle received an estimated $1,500.00 in minor damage. There were no injuries. No citations were given.

Donald L. Johnson, Blairsburg, was backing out of a parking stall at First State Bank on Feb. 3. Johnson struck a city utility pole while trying to beat the city snow thrower. The pole snapped off at ground level and blocked the street. The Webster City Line Department cleaned up the pole. No citations were issued. No injuries were reported. Johnson’s vehicle sustained an esitmated $1,000 in minor damage. The city utility pole sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Doris Adkinson, Webster City, reported the fraudulant use of her credit card on Jan. 20. The card was used at a Webster?City Kum & Go. $318.58 was charged to the card.

Matthew R. Caquelin, Woolstock, was arrested on Jan. 2 for public intoxication. This is Caquelin’s third offense.

Police Reports

A two vehicle accident occurred on Feb. 1. Cassidy M. Fournier, Webster City, was driving west bound in the alley behind Napa Auto. Cory L. Roe, Webster City, was backing out of a parking spot. Roe failed to yield the right of way to Fournier and hit Fournier’s vehicle. There were no injuries. Roe’s vehicle sustained an estimated $700 in minor damage. Fournier’s vehicle sustained $1,200 in damage.

Chance R. Pint, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 29 for criminal mischief in the 5th degree.

Avery S. Jackson, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 26 for simple assault.

David L. Koester, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 22 for disorderly conduct.

On Jan. 21 a glass door was shot out at Mort’s Plumbing and Heating in Webster City.
