Conservation urges caution during Briggs Woods Lake draw down

Hamilton County Conservation started drawing the lake level down at Briggs Woods Lake starting Wednesday, October 25.

The lake will be lowered by approximately 10 feet from its current level. The reason for this is to prepare for installing a new golf course irrigation pump that will replace the existing pump house.

While the lake is down, conservation staff will evaluate and enhance the fish structures that were put into place in 2006, when the lake was lowered for the watershed project.

The lake is only expected to be low for a short time period and will again start to fill up naturally through the creek and precipitation.

The public is urged to use caution if out exploring the lake bed, as muddy and mucky conditions will be found.

Any trash cleanup will be greatly appreciated at this time as well.
