Hawks strong in relays at North Polk

ALLEMAN — The South Hamilton track and field teams were in action here Monday at the North Polk Co-Ed Invitational.

The Hawks won three relay titles, as the girls captured the 4×200 and 4×400, while the boys won the sprint medley.

Makena Galetich, Brooklyn Doolittle, Ashlyn Erickson and Tanna Thompson posted a time of 1:49.92 to win the 4×200, while the same quartet went 4:19.90 in the winning 4×400.

The sprint medley of Sydnee Flaugh, Galetich, Thompson and Erickson placed second while Olivia Beaune (800), Daytona Ferrie (discus), Grace Neuberger (high jump), Claire Hewitt (long jump) and Tessa Skartvedt (shot put) were all third.

For the South Hamilton boys, Ty Koehnk went 50.03 to win the 400 while running the anchor of the sprint medley. Nick Severseike, Noah Gunderson and Kolby Hodnefield joined him.

Gunderson (100), Johnathan Drake (200), the 4×100 and 4×200 relays were all second with Pete Coburn finishing third in the 1,600.
