KYL to offer holiday programs

Gift wrapping station to open Monday

Kendall Young Library will offer several holiday youth programs throughout the month of December.

Wild Things, the program for pre-kindergarten through second grade students, will meet Dec. 7 to create groovy Christmas trees with Legos, Duplos and Play Dough. On Dec. 14, the group will have a chance to try out an obstacle course. The Dec. 21 session will be all about snow globes and Bingo.

Wild Things meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

The Hungry Caterpillars, preschoolers, will meet Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Dec. 8, 15th and Dec. 22 and will have the same programs as the Wild Things.

Tween’s Time, for students in third through fifth grade, will meet Thursday Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The group will work on groovy Christmas trees and try out an obstacle course on those days.

Early Out activities are planned for Dec. 15 from 1:30 to 3:30 for pre-k through fifth grade, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

A come and go activity day will be held Dec. 20 for pre-k through fifth grade from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Teen Lounge for sixth through 12th grade youths will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room.

Gift wrapping

Kendall Young Library will once again be offering a gift wrapping station for local residents who need a spot to wrap up Christmas presents.

The gift wrapping station will be located in the Jane Young Room from Dec. 6 through 23 while the library is open. Just one family at a time will be allowed in to wrap. The library will provide tape, paper, bows and boxes.

Holiday closings

The library will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24, Saturday, Dec. 25, Monday, Dec. 27, Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1.

The facility will reopen for business on Monday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m.
