Prairie walk is Tuesday at Little Wall Lake

The Prairie Roots project, which is part of the Humanities Iowa and Conservation Creations will have its second event on Wednesday at Little Wall Lake. The prairie walk and guided writing at the lake will begin at 5 p.m. Those participating should meet by the cabins on the east side of Little Wall Lake. The walk will be approximately one mile, and participants will see native prairie habitat, seasonal wildflowers, views of the lake, a wooded trail area, the small glacial wall that helped give Little Wall Lake its name, and opportunities to observe birds, insects and other ...

Chamber Retail Committee meets Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The Webster City Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday. This committee coordinates and plans events such as Junquefest, the citywide garage sales, Market Nights, Ladies Night and other events that attract shoppers to the Webster City area. Members of the Chamber are encouraged to attend. Other retailers are invited to get involved by joining the Chamber and helping plan events.

Cops and Bobbers fishing event is this Saturday

The Hamilton County Law Enforcement officers are sponsoring a Cops and Bobbers fishing event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. This will be held at the small beach shelter at Briggs Woods Park, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail. The event is free and residents do not need a fishing license, since it is being held during the Iowa DNR free fishing weekend. The program is designed for kids ages 3-14 years of age, but adults can fish with their kids. Prizes will be given only to kids in those ages.
