Market Nights begin Thursday downtown

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off the 2026 Market Nights season on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Webster City. The first Market Night of the season will feature Youth Entrepreneur Night, giving young innovators and future business owners the opportunity to showcase products, services, and creative ideas. Entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. as the Webster City Community Theatre presents two short skits, followed by live music from Spencer Suchan. Women’s Club to host Teddy bear tea party Saturday afternoon

The Webster City Women’s Club will host a teddy bear tea party at the Jane Young House at 629 Elm St., west of the Kendall Young Library. The event, which will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, is for children from 3 to 7 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. The cost is $15 per adult/child pairing, and $5 for each additional child. This will introduce the young children to the atmosphere of a formal event, with both adults and children asked to dress up and to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. Prairie walk is Tuesday at Little Wall Lake

The Prairie Roots project, which is part of the Humanities Iowa and Conservation Creations will have its second event on Wednesday at Little Wall Lake. The prairie walk and guided writing at the lake will begin at 5 p.m. Those participating should meet by the cabins on the east side of Little Wall Lake. The walk will be approximately one mile, and participants will see native prairie habitat, seasonal wildflowers, views of the lake, a wooded trail area, the small glacial wall that helped give Little Wall Lake its name, and opportunities to observe birds, insects and other ...

Chamber Retail Committee meets Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The Webster City Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday. This committee coordinates and plans events such as Junquefest, the citywide garage sales, Market Nights, Ladies Night and other events that attract shoppers to the Webster City area. Members of the Chamber are encouraged to attend. Other retailers are invited to get involved by joining the Chamber and helping plan events.
