Prairie walk is Tuesday at Little Wall Lake

The Prairie Roots project, which is part of the Humanities Iowa and Conservation Creations will have its second event on Wednesday at Little Wall Lake. The prairie walk and guided writing at the lake will begin at 5 p.m. Those participating should meet by the cabins on the east side of Little Wall Lake.

The walk will be approximately one mile, and participants will see native prairie habitat, seasonal wildflowers, views of the lake, a wooded trail area, the small glacial wall that helped give Little Wall Lake its name, and opportunities to observe birds, insects and other wildlife.

Following the walk, writer and educator Deb Marquart will lead a guided writing session inspired by the landscape, observations and experiences of the morning. Writers of all experience levels are welcome. Children aged 10 and above are welcome to attend with a parent or adult guardian.

Starting at $3.46/week.
