Cops and Bobbers fishing event is this Saturday

The Hamilton County Law Enforcement officers are sponsoring a Cops and Bobbers fishing event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. This will be held at the small beach shelter at Briggs Woods Park, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail. The event is free and residents do not need a fishing license, since it is being held during the Iowa DNR free fishing weekend. As part of the program, they will teach fishing pole maintenance, fish identification, fishing regulations, water safety and other basic fishing instructions. Market Nights begin Thursday downtown

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off the 2026 Market Nights season on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Webster City. The first Market Night of the season will feature Youth Entrepreneur Night, giving young innovators and future business owners the opportunity to showcase products, services, and creative ideas. Women’s Club to host Teddy bear tea party Saturday afternoon

The Webster City Women’s Club will host a teddy bear tea party at the Jane Young House at 629 Elm St., west of the Kendall Young Library. The event, which will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, is for children from 3 to 7 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. The cost is $15 per adult/child pairing, and $5 for each additional child. This will introduce the young children to the atmosphere of a formal event, with both adults and children asked to dress up and to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. Special County Supervisor meeting today at 10 a.m.

The Hamilton County supervisors have called a special meeting for 10 a.m. Wednesday for a report on the Briggs Woods Conference Center. The meeting will be in the Hamilton County Courthouse meeting room, in the lower meeting room.
