Mobile food pantry Set for Tuesday

The Food Bank of Iowa Mobile Food Pantry will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Upper Des Moines Opportunity, 11610 Collins St., Webster City, beginning at 3 p.m.

The event is drive-through only. Participants should stay in their car and the food will be delivered to the car.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is the community partner for the event.

Ice cream social planned for Aug. 20

McGuire Bend UB Church Ice Cream Social will be held on Friday August 20th in the Stratford City Park North Shelter from 5-7pm.

Serving ice cream, beef burgers, chips, pie, bars, and drinks. A free will offering will be taken. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music of the Gustafsons at 6:30 p.m. in the South Shelter. Everyone is welcome.

Block party set for Stanhope

STANHOPE — Stanhope will host Rock the Block on Aug. 28 from 8 to 11 p.m., on Highway 17.

The Block Party will feature musician Brad Morgan. Admission cost is $5. Ages 3 and younger will be admitted free.

Food and drinks will be available. The gates will open at 7 p.m.
