Participants will carve a large wooden heirloom spoon. Beginner and intermediate levels are welcome. The carving will be done with knives, gouges and mallets. Wood and tools will be provided.

Quilts

Quilts have multiple uses, they can be hung up for display, used as a ‘tummy-time’ mat for babies and small children, or to keep warm indoors and outdoors. Come to Iowa Central Community College in Webster City on Jan. 23 and 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to create, craft and learn how to configure a quilting panel into a work of art. Elementary sewing levels skills are recommended. Instruction will be provided on the essentials of learning beginning quilting. The cost for the ‘Quilting with Panels’ course is $100.

The metal working and garden sculpture course will teach students basic welding and metal cutting skill.
