The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) announced last week that they will be awarding $7,500 to the Domestic/Sexual Assault Outreach Center in Fort Dodge.
The grant they received was due to a nomination by the Peoples Credit Union of Webster City.
The funds are distributed through the ICUF Financial Inclusion Grant program which directs financial resources to organizations which serve minority populations, working to remove barriers to financial well-being for underserved Iowans.
The grant is designed to address areas such as financial literacy, affordable housing and employment. They direct funding to affordable housing, business ownership, childcare, education, employment, health access and outcomes.
The grant to D/SAOC in Fort Dodge is specifically to address financial literacy, affordable housing and employment. D/SAOC serves individuals and families in the north central area of Iowa, including Hamilton County.
