Fireflies and bats to be focus of conservation program tonight

The Hamilton County Conservation program will be held tonight from 8:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Briggs Woods barn shelter.

This is at the third level of Briggs Woods County park.

The program theme is “Chasing Fireflies, bat counts and glow games.

Blood Drive at VDMC Thursday

The Webster City Community Blood Drive is scheduled for Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Van Diest Medical Center.

This will be held in the Clinic Board room located at 2350 Hospital Drive.

Deadline for Corgi races next week

The Corgi races will be repeated for the second year at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 22. This will begin at 6 p.m. at the show arena.

Registration for this event must be submitted by July 16.

The event is sponsored by the Hamilton County Farm Bureau

Women’s Club to meet Monday at Career Ag Academy

The next meeting of the Webster City Woman’s Club will be July 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Career Ag Building at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.

The greeter will be Jan Faint>. Pie and homemade ice cream will be served by Donna Bristow, Kathy Kolbeck, Susan Meinders and Carol Crystal

The program is “Career Ag Academy” by Kurt Veldhuizen in an air-conditioned new building. We will also view baby chicks and pigs through a window.

You can meet at the Community Theatre parking lot, located behind the theatre at 1001 Willson Avenue to carpool at 1:05 p.m. to the fairgrounds or you can meet at the fairgrounds at 1:30 p.m.. The Career Ag Academy is the first building to your right as you enter the gate. (the former floral hall)
