Webster City head football coach Andy Brim had nothing but praise for not just his seniors, but the entire Lynx team after ending the season here last Friday night.
MOC-Floyd Valley beat Webster City in the 2026 finale by a scores of 34-21.
"I'm beyond proud of our team and the grit that they displayed throughout the year," Brim said. "Football forces you to be uncomfortable, and our kids not only accepted that, but embraced the challenge day in and day out."
The Lynx’s slate this fall was packed with playoff qualifiers, including Iowa Falls-Alden, Clear Lake, Sioux Center, Bishop Heelan, and Algona. Those five all advanced to the round of 16, with a sixth – Fort Dodge – just missing out. Webster City’s schedule was ranked as one of the Top-5 toughest in all of Class 3A.
"We played an extremely tough schedule," Brim said. "Instead of complaining, our kids faced the challenge head-on and looked at each week as an opportunity to go out and play their best against some of the best competition in (Class) 3A."
Coyce Bertran rushed 23 times for 219 yards on Friday, scoring two touchdowns. That included a 71-yard run to the end zone. Kaleb Hansen had 101 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
Grant Arends anchored the defense with seven tackles, and Boston Farley had a sack. Luke Blake picked off a pass. John Wilwerding forced a fumble that he recovered.
Israel Torres was 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts.
Webster City honored seniors Bertran, Arends, Blake, Torres, Hansen, Alex Staley, Edwin Ramos Nolasco, Tristan Bohl, Efrain Calles-Arnaiz, Gryffan Stevens, Yerik Vasquez, Wilwerding, Peyton Weisberg, Zack Lahr and Ayden Elliott.
"Our senior class was a huge factor in setting the tone for our team to show up every day ready to get better and improve as a football team," Brim said.
