The Webster City High School announced four Webster City musicians who have been named to sing and play with the 2026 All State Band and Choir. This competitive program draws talent from all over the state of Iowa, and earning a spot in either the band or chorus is a high honor.

Ava Ely was selected for the All-State Band on first flute, earning this prestigious honor for the third time. In All-State Choir, Max Anderson was selected for tenor for the second year, Aiden Haman was selected for bass for the second year, and Ash Tinoco was selected for alto for the first time.

Rehearsing the complex materials, and the audition process takes a tremendous amount of time. Those students who worked on the various music for auditions included

My Hoang, who received a recall on clarinet, while Will Ruby and Ben Barner received recalls for bass 1 in choir. Other Webster City students who auditioned for band included Ava Orr, Lydia Propes, Vincent Bittner and Audry Buie. Additional choir members who went through the audition process included Paisyn Bare, Bryce Hrnicek, Blake Arjes and Daniel Murillo Delfin.

Approximately 17% of students who audition statewide are selected for membership in the All-State ensembles, making this a significant accomplishment. The 2026 Iowa All-State Festival marks the 80th anniversary of this prestigious event.

Selected students will rehearse in Ames on November 20-21, with the All-State Festival Concert taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, at Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University. Tickets go on sale October 27 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Webster City High School congratulates all students who prepared and auditioned, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and commitment to music.
