Boone rallies to top Webster City

A late rally by Boone left the Webster City baseball team on the short end of a 13-8 decision here last Friday night. The Lynx had a five-run third to take control of the contest before the Toreadors rallied, scoring three in the fourth, four in the fifth and four more in the sixth. Keegan Hisler, Briar Klaver, Josh Stansfield, Trevyn Lyons, Josh Griep and Braylon Dyvig all had two hits each for Webster City, as Hisler and Dyvig each scored twice. POCAHONTAS — The Webster City softball team dropped a tough 12-9 decision to Pocahontas Area here last Friday night. After taking a 5-1 lead, the Lynx (10-5 overall) allowed five runs in the second and five more in the fourth. Adeline Tesdahl had three hits, including a home run. ALGONA — The Webster City baseball team came up just short of knocking off North Central Conference leader Algona here Wednesday night. After taking leads in the second and fifth innings, the Lynx were unable to keep the Bulldogs off the board the final two times they came to bat, as Algona pulled out a 6-3 win. After falling to Don Bosco, 8-3, the Lynx avenged a loss earlier this season to the Mustangs at their own tournament, 3-2 in nine innings.
