Cherry had a throw of 49-3.5 to win the shot put and 148-7 to claim the discus. Weinzetl went 11.84 in the 100 and 23.34 in the 200. He also ran on the winning 4×100 relay alongside Aiden Hrnicek, Keegan Hisler and Luke Estlund.

Hisler joined his teammates atop the podium by clearing 5-foot-8 in the high jump, with Lincoln Tielke capturing the 110 hurdles (17.96) and Justin Callahan the 1,600 (4:48.61).

The 4×800 relay of Callahan, Jack Barner, Jamey Stansfield and Ivan Lopez placed first in 9:05.21, with the shuttle hurdle relay of Tielke, Zach Lahr, Hrnicek and Estlund going 1:13.81 to claim gold.

“We had a great night, scoring 50 points in the field events with numerous season and personal bests,” WCHS head coach Chad Hisler said. “We were edged for the team title in the final event.

“I’m extremely proud of the work and effort these kids have shown. They continue to improve and do a great job of supporting each other.”

Estlund (long jump) and Barner (1,600) were both second, as was the 4×200 relay of Estlund, Hisler, Hrnicek and Weinzetl. Brandon Lahr added a third in the shot put and Zach Lahr was fourth in the 400 hurdles.

The sprint medley of Luke Blake, Salamon Inthisane, Ben Youngdale and Arlen Lake, the distance medley of Jesse Crutcher, Alex Staley, Kaleb Hansen and Lake, and the 4×400 of Stansfield, Hansen, Crutcher and Tielke were all fourth.
