To the editor: I had a visit from the mayor of Webster City at my home recently. He came to apologize for what happened at the recent city council meeting. I told him I was glad he came here because I also wanted to apologize. I apologized for the way I presented my concerns but not for what I was trying to inform the residents of Webster City. We had a good long visit. I explained my concerns to him and he did likewise to me. He said you are welcome anytime to express your concerns and ideas. To the editor: Hello everyone. I would like to give my reasons why I am in favor of the splash pad and correct most of the thinking going on about how City money can be spent. First, my reason for moving this project to at least the next stage is to find out if it comes in at projected costs as provided by the City’s engineer. The people of Webster City are taking a lot of hits to their pocket books with a new wastewater treatment plant which will be bonded for and paid for by residents and industries for the next 30 years. To the editor: Regarding the topic of building a splash pad: I am not in favor of building a splash pad given the current financial condition and/or situation this city is in. My family and I have lived here for 23 years and have made this town our home. Property taxes — went up. Water rates — going up. Utility Rates — went up. We are asked to keep paying more and more, which I understand is a necessity for these related things.
