Kiwanis Club asks for help watching can cage

To the Editor:

The can cage utilized by the Noon Kiwanis Club has been the victim of thefts of large bags of bottles and cans over the past several months. The funds generated by the redemption of the bottles and cans are used for projects such as the Middle School DARE program, the Hospital Toy Cart, police car stuffed animals, hosting the 5th Grade Terrific Kids, and other community projects benefiting local children. The club is asking the public to be vigilant (especially after dark) and report any suspicious behavior at the trailer. Or, if you have information about who is taking the bags, to call the Webster City Police Department at 832-9166.

If you notice something out of the ordinary, and want to remain anonymous, you can call Crimestoppers at 515-832-8437, or text C-R-I-M-E-S (274637), enter “IA40” at the start of the tip you want to send.

Anything the public can do to help us get the thefts stopped will be greatly appreciated.
