45 years can go really fast

WEBSTER CITY — Summer isn’t just summer, it’s also “Reunion Season.” That time of year when people get together with family members they barely know and classmates whose names they struggle to recall.

The Webster City High School Class of 1980 is gearing up for its 45th Reunion June 6, 7 and 8 in Webster City. For all those who have never been to a reunion, organizer Kathy Lee is putting out a special welcome to encourage everyone to take part in some or all of the weekend.

“I have never been to a reunion, just for various reasons,” Lee said. “I was going to come for our 30th reunion, but at that time my job involved being on call, and I had to take call.

Due to a Covid-cancellation in 2020, it’s now been 10 years since the Class of 1980 has gathered together again. Lee is hoping many will make the effort to attend.

“We are getting older, so let’s take time to reminisce about the good times we had, and make some new memories,” she said.

The monumental process of finding classmates and organizing the reunion has been an adventure in itself

“We have had a blast getting this ready,” she said of her co-planners, including Rita Wesselman Wolfgram, Patti Newby and Tim Adams.

“I would say everyone is really excited about seeing each other,” Lee added.
