Steffens, Carpenter exchange vows

Chelsie and Mitchell Carpenter

Chelsie Elizabeth Steffens and Mitchell Robert Carpenter, both of Ankeny, were married Aug. 6, 2016 at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Church in Ankeny with Deacon Steve Udelhofen officiating.

Parents of the couple are Brant and Stephanie Steffens, Wiota, Iowa, Troy and Ericka Parrott, Krum, Texas, and Rob and Diana Carpenter of Webster City.

The church was decorated with white pew bows and altar flowers. Joe Carrey was the organist and Jackie Carrey was the soloist. Musical selections included “I Can Only Imagine.”

The bride wore a white strapless satin mermaid gown with beading. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas with pink roses.

Krissy Teig of Des Moines was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Becky McPeak, Rutland, Josie Parrott, Krum, Texas, Ashley Carpenter, Eagle Grove, Lisa Bowers, Ankeny, and Kenzie Templeman, Mitchellville.

The bridesmaids wore light pink short strapless lace dresses and carried white hydrangeas.

Samantha Condon of Fort Dodge was the flower girl. She wore a white tulle dress with spaghetti straps and beading. Kade Kruger of Webster City was the ring bearer.

The best man was Tyler Carpenter of Denison. Groomsmen were Travis Dally, Norwalk, Zach Trent, Duncombe, Steve Carpenter, Webster City, Andrew Bogema, Minneapolis and Nick Miller, Midland, Texas. Ushers were Daulton Parrott, Krum, Texas, Tanner Steffens, Wiota, Austin Carpenter, Webster City, and Kevin Ryan, Fort Dodge.

Grandparents attending were Barb and Randy Piitmann, Atlantic, Alice Richter, Walnut, Marvin and Barbara Carpenter, Webster City, Don and Karen Eldridge, Fort Dodge, Jule Hanus, Grimes, and Larry Moser, Eagle Grove.

The reception was held at the Izaak Walton League in Des Moines. Hosts were Dave and Trisha Carpenter, and Adam and Minden Lytle, Gilbert. The couple took a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic.

The bride is a graduate of Atlantic High School and Des Moines Area Community College where she earned a degree in phlebotomy. She is employed at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

The groom is a graduate of Webster City High School and received a Bachelor of Science in business management at Iowa State University. He is employed at Wells Fargo in Des Moines.
