Coffee and Create Thursday at Legacy Learning

The Legacy Learning “Coffee and Create” program will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Thursdays starting this week. The Legacy Learning Art Studio, which is located at 719 Seneca St., invites the community to stop in and relax and connect with art, conversation and creative energy. “Coffee and Create” will be offered Thursdays only throughout the summer. Busy Tuesday schedule at Kendall Young Library

The Kendall Young Library has many activities for various age groups on Tuesdays. The Teen Lounge is open from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Tuesday. Teens who are between seventh and 12th grade can spend the morning at the Teen Lounge. Activities include a craft, snack, board games, video games and chromebooks. Wild Things children’s activities keep children busy on Tuesdays in the children’s area. Children between TK through second grade can be a part of Wild Things at the Kendall Young Library each week. American Legion Post 191 open for cards, cribbage, puzzles and other games

Every Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the American Legion Post 191 is open for friends to gather to play games and enjoy the company of Legion members. The American Legion building is located at 726 Second St. Members and guests are welcome to bring in snacks, but all beverages must be purchased from the Legion. This is a weekly activity and the community is welcome to join with neighbors and friends at the Legion.

Free summer lunch program is weekly

Free summer lunches are available each Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer at the West Twin Parks from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The park is located at 1100 Superior St. The meals are provided by local churches who are part of the Webster City Ministerial Association.

Webster City hotel/motel tax grant applications available July 1

The Webster City Hotel/Motel Tax Board announced that applications are now being accepted for Round 29 of the Hotel/Motel Tax Grant Program. These grants are intended to support projects and events that promote tourism and attract visitors to Webster City. Please note that a mandatory grant training session will be held on at 6 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. A representative from each applying organization must attend this session in order for their application to be considered for funding.
