Rose Grove Church has special service Sunday

There will be a service at the Rose Grove Church during the weekend of the Fourth of July. The service will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The church is located at 2505 Ubben Ave., Williams. The Friends of Rose Grove Church invite all in the community to come out and enjoy the fellowship and music.

Supervisors to meet today on Briggs Woods Conference Center agreement

The Hamilton County Supervisors will have a special meeting today at the Hamilton County Courthouse. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in the Courthouse basement meeting room. The Hamilton County Courthouse is located at 2300 Superior St. in Webster City. The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Briggs Woods Conference Center agreement.

Chasing fireflies, bat counts and glow game program at Briggs Woods Barn

The Hamilton County Conservation office will hold a program at the Briggs Woods barn shelter from 8:30 to 10 p.m. July 8, called “Chasing fireflies, bat counts and glow games.” John Laird will tell participants will learn about firefly habitats and the best techniques to catch and release them responsibly. They will also count the bats coming out of the bat houses at the shelter.

Williams Lions Independence Day celebration begins Friday

For the 74th year, members of the Williams Lions Club are organizing two days of events to celebrate the 250th year of America’s Independence. Events kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday with the kids parade, with line-up by the bank. The Iowa Falls State Bank will sponsor a free meal by the ball diamond, and at 7 p.m., kickball games will commence for ages 4-7 and 8-12. On Saturday, the parade kicks off at 10 a.m..
