Still time to register for ukulele class

Zoom class for 4th through 8th graders planned by KYL

Area youths who are interested in learning to play a musical instrument are invited to sign up for a six week course offered by Kendall Young Library.

Wayne Judkins, children’s librarian, will be presenting ukulele lessons via Zoom for students in 4th through 8th grades. Classes will begin Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

No prior music experience is necessary and the library even has ukuleles that can be checked out to use for the class. The instruments are available on a first come, first served basis, according to library officials.

At the end of the six week class, every student will have learned strumming basics, how to play some popular songs and how to write their own songs, according to Judkins.

For registration, Zoom information and to reserve a ukulele, call the library at 832-9100 or email wayne@kylib.org.
